At Sound Waves Music and Movement Camp, students will participate in singing, improvising, moving and making music in child-centered, creative ways. Based on the Orff-Schulwerk method, this is a hands-on music learning pedagogy in which students engage with music and each other in playful, yet artful experiences. If you are in need of a scholarship, please print out the registration form and also write a short letter stating the reason the scholarship request. Deadline to sign up for this camp is June 9, 2023. An email with camp information will be sent out one week before the start of camp.
Director Liz Caruso shares “students learn music like they acquire language. During their formative years they benefit immensely from experiences in experimental music making and exploration. These foundational skills transfer directly to learning to play instruments when they are older.”
