Santa Barbara School Board Trustees have hired McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C. as the consulting firm to handle the district’s search for a new superintendent. Cary Matsuoka, who has served as the Santa Barbara schools’ chief for the past four years, will retire in June.

The Omaha, Nebraska-based firm has been conducting national searches for governing boards since 1991. The firm has placed over 750 superintendents and other officials in public and non-profit organizations across the United States and is endorsed by the California School Board Association.
