Attention families, staff and students of SB Unified:
We are forwarding you an important message from Santa Barbara County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Susan Salcido that reflects the collaboration between SB Unified, our partner districts across the county, the Santa Barbara County Department of Public Health and the Santa Barbara County Education Office.
Santa Barbara County schools are united in their decision to cancel schools beginning next week. Each district has the flexibility to begin canceling Monday, March 16, with full closure no later than Wednesday, March 18. Santa Barbara Unified schools are closing beginning Monday, March 16, through (at least) Friday, April 3. Our staff will still report to work on Monday and Tuesday.
District officials are working on a plan to continue providing meals to our students during the school closure. We will send more details as soon as they become available.
